Extraordinary Tips about Placement and Appearance of Ads

Placement of your ads | Appearance of your ads

For many webmasters or bloggers, most online income comes from advertising on the site. That is why you need traffic to your site to make money. Don't be stupid and think that they just have to be on the website to earn money for you. The placement of the ads, is the most important factor for earning money besides your traffic. I'm afraid that if you think this sounds like something easy to do in a couple of minutes, you're wrong. Actually there is no position in the page that is the best for every website around the web. Your website is unique; it's a combination between content and design that tells the best placement of the ads.

In general, there are some placements that work better than others. I often talk about the five extraordinary placements of ads. There is only one way, the hard way, to find out which one works best for your site. Use one placement strategy for about two weeks, check the click-references. Then try another placement for another two weeks. Do this until you've tried out all the major placements. Compare the different click-references and use the placement that has given you the most clicks per impressions permanently.

Here are the five extraordinary placements of ads:

  1. Under the navigation menu of your site. This is the most viewed area of your entire site. If you succeed with having relevant ads that blend into the design of your site, this will probably be the winning location.

  2. Between your heading and your first paragraph. It is high up on the page and it will be noticed. If the ads are relevant the, visitor might just click on the ads instead of reading the article, which is good if you want to earn money.

  3. In the end of an article, after the last paragraph. I really recommend using AdSense links here because they will give the reader many relevant alternatives to click on. After reading an article you often want to know more about the subject, that's why this placement often is successful.

  4. After the title of the page. This is a highlighted location on your site. Sometimes it will make people click on the ads, sometimes not. The problem with this placement is that it often gets separated from the rest of the site. When it's not a part of the content, some people tent to ignore it. But it's definitely worth a go.

  5. Near an image. The images will draw attention and the visitor will spot the ad.

Tips about the extraordinary appearance of ads

In almost all cases the winning concept for high click-references is to keep it clean. Avoid using blinking animations with screaming colors. If you're using Google ads, Google has made this part easy for you. You can design your Google ads so they totally blend into your text. In a quick glance some people can take these ads for website content. You're not fooling your readers because they're still choosing what to click on and Google ads are often relevant to your topic.

If you're using any kind of affiliate program where you choose your own ads, try to choose banners that fit in but still attract attention. They should not look annoying. The look of the ads should not make it difficult for the reader to navigate the site. It could be a good advice to keep some kind of color symmetry on the webpage.
